UK – ATMS plc which produces stock management solutions for third party logistics and supply chain customers is celebrating two recent successes after gaining a major new contract whilst having their systems praised by an existing customer following a successful twelve months. 3PL specialist Sheldon Clayton Logistics based in West Bromwich handles contracts which individually require up to a thousand units a day to be picked and therefore demand near perfect accuracy.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are the names of the games when this level of stock transfers are involved and with a client demanding a KPI of 99.6% a year long appraisal the ATMS system showed a KPI 0f 99.998%, figures which have not only exceeded the formal requirements of the client but were higher than any figures recorded before their operations were outsourced to Sheldon and Clayton Logistics.

To be able to achieve this performance, selecting the best distribution software available was a key component. Sheldon Clayton Logistics use StockTrack PLUS warehouse management system complemented by cost effective and reliable Catchwell handheld mobile computers; both provided by ATMS plc. Richard Davies, Logistics and IT Director of Sheldon Clayton Logistics said:

“It was fundamental that we selected an adaptable and reliable WMS. ATMS have delivered a system which allows us to proactively manage stock inventory and was a key factor in us winning the contract. We plan on rolling out the system into other areas of the business.”

Meanwhile another logistics provider, PDS Direct, a company boasting nineteen consecutive years of growth, has also chosen StockTrack PLUS as their management solution for the company’s supply chain processes. The system will be introduced across two 50,000 sq ft warehouses supporting the services PDS offer to retail based industry offering a full range of distribution and warehousing services to the UK and Western European markets. Sean Kiely of PDS Direct commented:

"We selected ATMS on the basis of their reputation in 3PL industry and their innovative approach. We are also impressed by their willingness to build a strong relationship with their customers and to understand their particular needs."
