UK – Toward the end of last year Rico Logistics, a subsidiary of India’s TVS Group, acquired DHL’s UK Same Day courier business which immediately boosted the company’s throughput of urgent freight deliveries and now, the DHL business having been integrated into the Rico network, the company has introduced a new seven day per week delivery service.

The new e-Sameday service, the ‘e’ standing for evening not the usual electronic, is available nationwide with some deliveries being completed in as little as eight hours, an ability which the company says has already assisted in attracting interest from some major retailers.

Established 25 years ago Rico Logistics runs a network of 350 ‘Pick Up and Drop Off’ locations throughout the UK and Europe, plus the same number of ‘Intelligent Lockers’ where goods can be left, supplied by a staff of over 1,000 uniformed and vetted drivers. Explaining the launch of the new offering Martin Cheeseman, Sales & Marketing Director at Rico Logistics said:

“The changing and difficult times UK retailers have faced has forced many of them to innovate and pay even closer attention to what the online shopper wants. By offering convenient and varied delivery options retailers can further differentiate themselves from their competitors. In a time poor world an evening delivery service makes perfect sense!”
