GERMANY – Austrian headquartered freight forwarding agency and supply chain specialist Gebrüder Weiss held a ground-breaking ceremony for a new logistics terminal at its branch in Aldingen/Tuttlingen in Southern Germany on the 13th of October. The terminal is set to supplement the existing handling facility at the location and represents a €3 million investment for the group and is scheduled for completion in early 2017.

GW’s customers come mainly from the automotive, mechanical engineering, electronics and electrical sectors, as well as from the food industry and the new facility will cover 3,000 square metres and accommodate 2,500 pallet bays with 1,500 square metres of warehouse space for bulky goods. Fabian Lubitz, Branch Office Manager at Gebrüder Weiss Aldingen, commented:

"We have been offering logistics solutions [here] since 2014 and demand is constantly increasing. The new storage area enables us to cater more specifically for the precise needs of our customers. More and more companies want to outsource storage and concentrate solely on their production operations,"
