CHINA – Shanghai is the latest city to come under the microscope of Move One, who specialise in relocating individuals and companies overseas. The group’s services run from shipping personal items to project logistics and pet transportation and the virtual guide they have just released gives a good insight into what the potential ex pat might discover upon arrival.

The short video series includes explanatory sections on Language, Housing, Medical, Schools, Transportation, Shopping, Expat Community, For Kids, Pets and other useful information for those intending to settle or contemplating a move. The series so far consists of virtual guides covering Budapest, Moscow, Prague, Bratislava, Warsaw in addition to the latest Shanghai offering and there are others planned for release soon covering Bucharest, Belgrade, Kiev, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Move One’s philosophy mirrors that of our own Handy Shipping Guide in terms of immediacy, relevance and ease of distribution and access. Move One's head of destination services Jon Harman said:

“Traditional paper destination guides were expensive to produce, became out of date quickly, and were difficult to amend. The virtue of producing online guides is that our assignees and clients get an up to date, detailed and concise resource to make settling in to a new city a pleasant experience.

“People usually seek information out on the web, but the type of information we have in our city guides, like how to validate public transport tickets and parking meters, or how to deal with local landlords, isn't readily available. We have taken great care to document the minutiae of life in these guides, and have included interviews with other expats and profiles of local business people and packaged it in a convenient way for people to use in the run up to their move. We believe that we have created a fantastic resource to help ease expats into their new lives as seamlessly as possible.”
