IRELAND – US – Redwood Logistics' second annual employee-giving campaign teamed up with international packaging client the Ardagh Group's Dublin based operation in support of The Children's Medical and Research Foundation (CMRF) in Crumlin, Ireland. The Chicago headquartered freight group's employee donation raised an outstanding $35,246.80, which was contributed to the Ardagh Group's efforts, which raised more than €200,000 ($236,000) for local Irish charities. John Sadlier, Chief Procurement Officer, Ardagh Group, said:

“CMRF Crumlin is one of three local charities that we committed to supporting in 2017 with a modest goal of €20,000. When I made the ask to long time logistics partner Redwood Logistics to support us in our challenge, they didn’t hesitate. Their contribution to this effort is more than we could have hoped for and will make a huge difference.”

The Redwood Logistics’ employee-giving campaign was part of the festivities for the company’s annual ‘Redwood Games’, a company-wide outing held each summer in Chicago. The Games are a fun, yet highly competitive event integrating a number of Olympic-style team competitions. Fundraising for CMRF Crumlin was part of the event festivities, with the winning fundraising team receiving an advantage for game day. Todd Berger, President and CEO, Redwood Logistics, said:

“As a company, knowing that our employees are willing and wanting to give back in this way is so important. The contribution raised through fun and team work will have a direct impact on the lives of sick children, and that’s something I couldn’t be more proud of. We are grateful to our partner Ardagh Group for asking us to take part in their challenge.”

Sarah Joyce, Head of Corporate Partnerships at CMRF Crumlin, was clearly encouraged by the efforts of the two companies in support of the charity’s work, saying:

“CMRF Crumlin were delighted to have been chosen by Ardagh Group as one of their charity partners for 2017. The opportunity to work with a company which wants to highlight the importance of children’s health and engage their staff as part of that campaign is inspiring.

“The money raised by Ardagh Group and partners like Redwood Logistics is a vital support to CMRF Crumlin being able to continue to deliver the best treatments possible to the 120,000 children that visit the hospital every year. CMRF Crumlin would like to thank everyone at Ardagh Group and Redwood who made this year’s partnership such a great success.” Photo: Around 550 heart operations are performed in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin every single year. The new €4.5m 25-bed Children’s Heart Centre, built with funds raised through the CMRF, means Ireland’s youngest cardiac patients have the facilities they deserve.
