Lift Truck Company Bought Out By Konecranes

Austrian Sales and Service Team Taken Over by Lifting Group

AUSTRIA – FINLAND – Finnish lifting specialists Konecranes, which has in excess of 10,000 staff in forty six countries tending to the lifting needs of port and freight terminal operatives as well as shipyards and manufacturers have acquired the assets and operations of lift truck service company Zeiss Staplerservice GmbH, headquartered in Sommerein, Austria. The company is specialized in lift truck maintenance service, and the sales and rental of lift trucks.

Ownership of Zeiss Staplerservice makes it possible for Konecranes to offer its own lift truck sales and maintenance services in Austria. Zeiss Staplerservice’s activities are based on long-term customer relationships and the company has a wide customer base and strong experience in the sales and service of forklifts from 1.5 tons to the highest capacity Konecranes’ lift trucks.

Zeiss Staplerservice has 23 employees and during 2010 the company’s net sales amounted to more than €3 million, the cost of the acquisition has not been disclosed. The acquisition will strengthen the Konecranes presence in the region with Zeiss Staplerservice serving as a competence, maintenance and business support center for Konecranes lift truck activities and for the surrounding Central East European countries.
