UK – The great and the good of the supply chain and logistics community are once again expected to gather at the UK Warehousing Association’s (UKWA) 14th Annual Awards for Warehousing and the presentation ceremony will take place on Wednesday 3rd July at the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, London. There are ten Awards categories in total but this year the prestigious accolades will feature a new Junior Manager of the Year Award. UKWA’s chief executive officer, Roger Williams, comments:

“The logistics industry has a reputation for being dominated by middle aged men and with our existing Young Employee of the Year and, now, our Junior Manager of the Year award, UKWA intends to recognise the success of young people working in the sector at both an operational and strategic level.”

The awards are established as symbols of excellence in the 3PL sector and emphasise the importance of logistics within today’s economy. Categories range right across the sphere of operations from customer service to training, from technical innovation to best warehouse management with the full list on the nomination form. The winner of last year’s Young Employee of the Year Award, Joanne Dolan of Paul Ponsonby, said:

“It was a real thrill to win a UKWA Award and it was especially nice to know that my employer had put me forward and that my efforts had been recognised.”

The Awards give you a chance to celebrate someone in the industry who deserves the recognition of their peers and are free to enter with a very staightforward entry process. Entry (nomination) forms can be downloaded HERE. The deadline for entries is 23rd April.

For those who wish to attend the awards ceremony, a table of 12 can be reserved at the ‘Early Bird’ rate of £1,210.00 + VAT, until May 1st. Alternatively individual places can be reseved at £110.00 + VAT also until May 1st when the rates will increase. Either can be booked HERE.
