Kuehne + Nagel Expands South American Logistics Operations

Colombia / Chile – Kuehne + Nagel has recently expanded its logistics operations in South America with the opening of new, state-of-the-art facilities near Bogota and the awarding of a new logistics management contract from Ripley, one of Chile’s top retailers of apparel, accessories and home products.

The new developments are further success for the logistics giant, which has marked the South American market as one with massive potential for expansion in the coming years.

In Colombia, K+N has now opened its brand new logistics facility which is aimed at expanding its integrated supply chain management services in the country.

Located on the Siberia industrial complex some seven kilometres from Bogota, the facility has access to the country’s main communication routes via road, sea and air, and features 10,000 sq metres of space to the highest international standards for security and handling.

In Chile, K+N has been chosen to provide for Ripley’s global order management needs, which will make them responsible for freight management and value-added consolidation services from Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region.

Ripley’s currently manages fifty-one stores across Peru and Chile, as well as a chain of banks, and is seen as an important client for K+N.
