HAMBURG / GERMANY - The new Kühne Logistics University (KLU), founded by freight mogul Klaus-Michael Kühne, has announced details on the Masters course it is to run from September which is aimed at providing future leaders of the logistics industry an education second-to-none.

The ‘MSc Global Logistics’ is a new postgraduate degree course which combines the subject areas of logistics, management and leadership and is open to students from around the world. It is aimed at holders of bachelor degrees who wish to deepen their understanding of logistics and supply chain management.

The 2-year program, to be taught in English, will feature a semester abroad at one of KLU’s partner universities in Asia or North America as well as a three month internship.

Speaking of the new Masters program Dr. Wolfgang Peiner, founding president of the university, said: “Few subjects can better prepare tomorrow’s managers for the global challenges than a broad understanding of logistics. This is exactly what our MSc provides.

“In contrast to other courses, it places particular emphasis on issues such as responsible corporate management. The KLU will have a consistently international orientation backed up by a high-quality international program faculty, who as well as teaching the MSc courses, will also aid in recruiting future faculty and contribute their personal research networks to the establishment of our university.”

Course fees for the MSC Global Logistics are 7,500 euros per year and the deadline for applications for the 2010/11 academic year is 15th July 2010, with the course starting on the 27th of September.

Those interested in the course can find details on the KLU website or else attend “The KLU Open Day” on the 28th May at the Kühne + Nagel building in the HafenCity, Hamburg.
