UK – Basildon-based Kestrel Liner Agencies has been awarded the Queens Award for Enterprise in International Trade in recognition for their success in expanding their international trade over the last six years.

Andy Thorne, a founder and director at Kestrel’s, said: “We are all very proud to receive this prestigious Queen’s Award. We all work very hard to give our customers a 24 hour, seven days a week service and to receive such an accolade is a wonderful reward. We will look forward to celebrating this achievement in the coming weeks and sharing the good news with our staff and our customers around the world.”

The company, which represents shipping lines as well as members of the oil and gas industry, now has offices across the world and an excellent reputation from clients and customers - a far remove from its humble beginnings as a two-man band in a portable cabin in Barking.

Amongst its other achievements Kestrel helped charter vessels to carry relief to Haiti after the devastating earthquake there earlier in the year, covering the costs themselves.
