Johnston Stevens Sell Shipping And Multimodal Stake

UK – Johnson Stevens Agencies have sold their interest in China Shipping (UK) Agency and Multimodal Logistics Ltd. to China Shipping Holdings Gmbh for an undisclosed sum. The sale ends a fourteen year long cooperation between the companies. The change heralds a complete shake up for the freight agency group who’s Chairman and Managing Director Derek W. Johnson MBE, said they were discussing several new ventures and fully expected to continue import and export services with the Far East.

Johnson Stevens is in the process of rebranding and, whilst retaining existing business under the current name and that of Starlift Freight Services they did expect to handle new agency representations under the rebranded identity, namely JSA Global Ltd. The company also had plans for developing an inland transport division.

Plans are in hand regarding Johnson Stevens Travel and that the newly acquired Polar Shipping Ltd, whilst continuing under the same name, would also be a part of JSA Polar Ltd. J.S. International Forwarding, the Felixstowe based specialist import clearance sector will be rebranded as JSA Forwarding. Mr Johnson said much was happening within the group and the future looks extremely exciting.

Johnson Stevens represent a broad portfolio of shipping lines and have been a notable force on the UK ships agency scene since 1976.
