LONDON, UK – Jamaica Producers, the long established Caribbean specialist shippers are to increase their East End terminal facilities close to the 2012 Olympic Village to centralise all their UK based West Indies freight traffic.

Speaking to Handy Shipping Guide, Mr David Harris, General Manager of JP Shipping Services, confirmed that times had been especially hard for the Jamaican market this year but that the company would be developing the London depot over the next few months to facilitate consolidating cargo to their traditional markets.

Jamaica Producers have traditionally provided a trusted route for fresh produce arriving from the Islands and carriage to and fro, via their container consolidations, of all manner of items including household and personal effects, cars, construction equipment and numerous traditional products associated with the strong connection between the West Indies and the UK.

According to Mr Harris, "We bring three critical strengths to the logistics business: first, we know and respect our customers in the Caribbean; second, our background in produce means that we appreciate the strict importance of timely delivery and good service; thirdly, we have the institutional credibility to get things done."

JP feel that their intimate knowledge of the Caribbean allows them to deliver better service levels, such as focusing on the traditional surges of trade associated with Christmas in Jamaica and Crop Over in Barbados.
