IRELAND – Combilift, the Irish manufacturer of multi-directional forklifts and long-load material handling solutions, has invested €46m in a new 46,500 square metre / 500,000 square foot factory. The facility is set to open on 2nd May 2018 and the opening will coincide with both the company's 20th year in business and the launch of a new product range.

The new factory comes after continued growth for the manufacturer, which two weeks ago signed a contract with Civmec, an Australian construction and engineering company, that is worth A$1 million (€660,000) to the Irish company.

Combilift will deliver a Straddle Carrier (Combilift SC) with a lift capacity of 90 metric tonne (200,000 lbs) to the Australian company in 2018. The Irish built machine is destined for use by Civmec on a significant project they are undertaking on the east coast of Australia. Commenting on the contract Chris Littlewood, Combilift Australia Business Development Manager, said:

“Civmec selected Combilift due to its ability to deliver a customised product that can work on challenging ground conditions. Combilift has a long-standing relationship with Civmec, This is the fourth Straddle Carrier they have purchased from us. It is double the capacity of their previous orders and the largest machine that Combilift have sold into the Australian market to date.”
