International Shipping, Freight Forwarding and Logistics Companies Chance to Save Lives and Win

GOSH! A Monkey Gets You a Place On OSCAR's Dragon!
Shipping News Feature

UK – WORLDWIDE – An appeal to the international shipping, freight forwarding and logistics community to sign up for a dramatic, yet fun, event taking place in London on Tuesday September 16. OSCAR (The Ocean and Shipping Community Advancing Children's Health and Research) is organising a Dragon Boat Race at the award-winning Docklands Water Sports Centre to raise money for lifesaving research into childhood cancers and immune diseases as part of the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) campaign.

Each team of ten, plus a drummer, will get the opportunity to compete in at least two races, with the day culminating in an exciting final and the chance to be crowned and awarded a trophy as the shipping world’s ultimate Dragon Boat Champions. The race even includes a Special Directors Challenge, a chance to nominate your boss to compete in a kayak race against similar lofty individuals.

As well as offering unusual networking and teambuilding benefits, there are more tangible pleasures with a free barbeque and a cash bar and the chance to see rivals suffer as they row away in the colourful Chinese-style Dragon Boats. There is a fundraising target of £5,000 per team (hence the monkey (£500 per head for you non cockney’s) for the OSCAR Campaign, and the team who raises the most money gets a head start in the race!

Registration is needed (apply HERE) before 31 July 2014 to guarantee your place and more information can be obtained from Ellie Notley on +44 (0) 20 7239 3005 or email ellie.notley@gosh.org.
