HONG KONG – Air cargo terminal operators Hong Kong Air Cargo Industry Services Limited (Hacis), the road haulage and added value logistics subsidiary of Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl), has signed an agreement with the Hong Kong division of global logistics provider DB Schenker extending the scope of the relationship between the two companies. The new contract will see Hacis providing Schenker with its Airport Direct Export Services, for the company’s export airfreight traffic from China and Hong Kong. The Airport Direct Export Handling Centre at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) will now handle around one third of all the freight forwarder's Hong Kong air cargo volumes.

Signing a contract during a ceremony at SuperTerminal 1 in Hong Kong, Managing Directors of both companies said that they are pleased with the new partnership, Soren Poulson, Managing Director of Hong Kong and South China for DB Schenker, said he felt Hacis’ strategic location within HKIA’s cargo area, its proximity to the airline cargo handling facilities and the range of services it provides under one roof would enhance DB Schenker’s export operations.

Kenneth Bell, Managing Director of Hacis agreed saying his company was delighted that DB Schenker’s experiences with Hacis had led them to formalise and extend the relationship to the benefit of both companies.
