CHINA – The outsize and special projects cargo carrier Hansa Heavy Lift has extended its reach with the opening of a new representative office in Shanghai as part of an ongoing push to grow its Asian footprint. Headed by Wenhe Shi, Hansa says the office will strengthen the company’s position in the Chinese market and enable the team to further support customers in the region in real time.

In addition to the new office, Hansa Heavy Lift also has offices in Singapore, Perth, Sao Paulo and Houston as well as the group headquarters in Hamburg. Joerg Roehl, CCO and Managing Director of Hansa Heavy Lift said:

“There is a big drive to accelerate infrastructure as well as oil & gas projects in China and we continue to see increased demand from customers to help with bigger and more challenging cargoes due to increasing modularisation. [We have] a strong track record in dealing with complex cargoes thanks to our specialised in-house team of Naval Architects, Structural Engineers and Welding Engineers with Shipyard, Offshore and Installation background and the added benefits of our state-of-the-art engineering software.

“In addition, our ships are equipped with cranes which have a combined lifting capacity of up to 1400 tonnes and all our vessels are equipped with various types of very flexible lifting equipment like specialised lifting beams, spreader bars, steel grommets and shackles.”

Hansa also has exclusive agencies in Denmark, UK, Argentina, Canada as well as Korea to back up its own offices and Wenhe Shi observed:
