EUROPE – ISRAEL - On Wednesday Google revealed that it had expanded its live traffic information service to twelve more European countries plus Israel in time for the summer holiday rush. The service may be found very useful if you are in a truck hauling freight, particularly in unfamiliar territory.
Full details of the services available, and how to access them are available on the Google Blog Site HERE. Countries covered by the system now include Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Spain and Switzerland plus Israel. Coverage includes all freeways and highways, as well as large roads in major cities and Google say users in the UK will also benefit from a finer grain of street level coverage.
The system can be tailored to suit the individual user and the live traffic layer is regularly updated every 5 to 10 minutes according to the blog.
