UK – We have pointed out previously that freight forwarding and all round transport group DB Schenker is rapidly becoming the ‘go to’ company to approach when organising the supply chain requirements of a sporting event and now the signing of a three year contract as ‘Preferred Logistics Supplier’ for the Goodwood sporting and entertainments group is set to reinforce that impression.

Having handled some prestigious events, the Glasgow 2014 games spring immediately to mind, this latest deal sees DB Schenker Logistics responsible for the Goodwood Festival of Speed, an iconic event which will see sponsors, exhibitors and contractors able to utilise a one-stop shop for complete event logistics, such as onsite handling services, international shipping, Health and Safety with CDM (Construction, Design and Management) regulations and joint IT systems that bring real-time visibility.

Staff at Goodwood expressed confidence in the deal commenting that they felt Schenker would bring an increased service level to an already well run event whilst Luke Bardall, Director for DB Schenker Fairs & Events UK added:

“The Festival of Speed is an extremely prestigious event and we recognise that Goodwood require a logistics supplier they can fully trust working with their sponsors, exhibitors and contractors. Therefore, we are delighted that Goodwood has chosen to work with us in view of our technical ability and the resources we have in the UK and within our global network. Goodwood is also an excellent platform to showcase our sustainable approach to event logistics and the operational efficiency we bring to every event and exhibition.”
