The latest tranche of workers to collect the keys to their new homes join others who have previously won in the company’s employee rewards programme which began in 2016. The ICTSI Employee House Raffle Programme, open to qualified rank-and-file and supervisory employees at the group’s flagship Manila International Container Terminal (MICT), means that the lucky winners now move in to a 104 m2 two-storey home, complete with its own perimeter fence and gate, finished ceiling, flooring and bathrooms.
The houses are situated in a sprawling gated community within the heart of Cavite’s Tanza municipality and the house design also provides for a garden, a carport and space for future expansion. The emotion on winning was summed up by Raul Avila who works at the Company’s Materials Management Department and is coming up for retirement having joined ICTSI when MICT opened in 1988, saying his prayers were ‘finally answered’ after his name was picked in the raffle, continuing:
“When I started here, I didn’t know how my kids will go to school, how we can all survive. But with ICTSI, we managed to survive, and I was able to provide education for all of my four children.”
ICTSI, which operates 32 terminals in 19 countries, says it now has plans to roll out the scheme across its global operations to incentivise more of its employees worldwide, with Christian R. Gonzalez, ICTSI Global Corporate Head, adding:
“More than an opportunity to fulfill the dream of having a house and lot of their own, the ICTSI Employee House Raffle is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to our employees, who, in the many years, were and continue to be instrumental to ICTSI’s success and growth.”
