French Fresh Fruit Firm Favours Flourishing Freight Facility for Future Flows

London Gateway Logistics Park to Gain Another Customer

UK – Compagnie Fruitière UK, a supplier and ripener of bananas in the UK market place will open a brand-new ripening centre at DP World London Gateway Logistics Park. The build of the new site will get underway through 2020, with the goal of being fully operational by 2021.

The facility will be built adjacent to DP World London Gateway port and will replace Compagnie Fruitière’s existing operation in Dartford. With the new port side location, the French fruit firm hopes that the new facility will help deliver the optimum supply chain, driving efficiency within the ripening process and using technology to help future-proof the business. Keith Sadler, Managing Director, Compagnie Fruitière, said:

The location of the site at port, combined with the use of technology to deliver efficiency and enhance freshness, will strengthen our reputation for excellent quality and service with our customers."

Within two years Compagnie Fruitière will be part of the UK’s most integrated logistics hub at DP World London Gateway, which comprises a state-of-the-art deep-sea port and rail terminal on an expansive land bank. Oliver Treneman, Logistics Park Development Director, DP World London Gateway, said:
