Freight Only Airline to Launch Chongqing Service from Monday

Cargolux Will Operate Twice Weekly

LUXEMBOURG – CHINA – News of another Southern Chinese service, this time for air freight, as Cargolux, Europe’s largest all cargo carries today announced an extension to its global services with the launch of twice weekly scheduled flights to Chongqing in South West China. As the largest of the four directly controlled municipal regions along with Beijing,Tianjin and Shanghai, Chongqing is enjoying rapid economic and social development that has helped the city itself become the most important industrial and commercial centre in the south west region. With 32 million inhabitants, the municipality hosts many of the world’s largest hi-tech electronic, automotive, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

Cargolux will operate its inaugural service on 14th May from Luxembourg via Doha and Sharjah to arrive at Chongqing’s Jianbai International Airport in the late evening of 15th May. The aircraft will return to Luxembourg via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Baku on 16th May. The second weekly service will commence on 17th May, routed via Tbilisi, Baku and Singapore and arriving in Chongqing in the early morning of 19th May. The return flight via Baku will reach Luxembourg in the early afternoon on the same day. Frank Reimen, Cargolux President and CEO said:
