UK – Any company with a road haulage operator’s licence will know that the demands of keeping control of truck servicing and safety checks, tachometer and drivers licensing and CPC documentation is ever more complex as the years roll by. This week at the CV Show the Freight Transport Association (FTA) has recognised the excellent work of several of its members, highlighting their high standards of maintaining both vehicles and trailers; their exemplary maintenance systems; their methods of controlling driver related defects, and has presented them with FTA Roadworthiness Awards.
Three companies, Bidvest Logistics, Hanson Building Products, and Muller Wiseman Dairies, received the prestigious Award whilst at the NEC, Birmingham from David Wells FTA Chief Executive (Elect) who commented:
“On behalf of FTA I am delighted to have presented these prestigious Roadworthiness Awards to our members today. These Awards are in recognition of the excellent standards they have achieved in vehicle safety and in maintaining the highest levels of vehicle condition compliance. I would like to congratulate Bidvest Logistics, Hanson Building Products and Muller Wiseman Dairies, and all those involved within these organisations for the efforts that they have made to ensure their fleets are safe, legal and efficient at all times.”
One organisation that received the award was Hanson Building Products which uses FTA auditing services to help ensure its vehicles remain safe, legal and reliable through carrying out inspections on all brick and block vehicles and trailers it operates throughout the country. It was the work of Hanson’s Dewsbury Depot that in particular has once again been recognised for its high standards in controlling safety related defects that ultimately won the FTA Award. Dale Clarke Hanson National Transport Manager observed:
“Hanson is thrilled to have won this highly regarded award which recognises our commitment to all aspects of safety. We have all put tremendous energy into making safety a top priority and this award is a credit to everyone in our high quality workforce and their exceptional contribution to our excellent safety record.”
