Freight Forwarding Group Tool Up for New Supply Chain Logistics Solution

UK – Any freight forwarding company worth its salt is always seeking the prestige contract, the type of firm whose name alone conjures up a mental image of an iconic brand. This week Ceva Logistics announced that it has won a three year contract with just such an organisation, world leading tooling solutions specialist, Snap-on Tools UK.

Under the new £5 million contract, Ceva will provide a dedicated solution for Snap-on’s 400 strong franchise network in the UK which encompasses collection, sortation and unattended deliveries into secure premises. Using the latest tracking and scanning technology, Ceva will collect Snap-on product from two warehouses in Kettering and deliver into Ceva’s sites across the UK where the product is sorted for final delivery.

Typically around 700 pallets will be delivered each week on behalf of Snap-on who will benefit from a dedicated fleet of 13 vehicles and 17 drivers, as well as a dedicated Contract Manager. Ceva designed the solution so that the closest depot is used to serve each of the Snap-on franchisees, resulting in optimum efficiency for all parties. Ceva’s Account Director, Consumer and Retail sector in the UK, Jon Evans, said:

Mr Aldo Rodi, Managing Director for Snap-on Tools UK, explained the reasoning behind a new approach for the tool company and the subsequent decision to employ Ceva’s supply chain to resolve the matter saying:
