Consignment Tracking Made Even Easier
Shipping News Feature

WORLDWIDE – After introducing an App for the Apple iPhone last October, DB Schenker Logistics has announced a newer version to make the tracking of freight consignments even easier. The new version can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple iTunes Store.

Currently available in German, English, Spanish, Chinese, Finnish and Polish the company plan to introduce this new version 2 in additional languages including Czech, Serbo-Croatian, Hungarian, Greek, Turkish, French, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese and Swedish in the near future.

New search criteria will enable customers to track shipments by including all references entered at booking, such as the delivery note number and invoice number, as well as the air waybill and bill of lading. The version introduced in October 2010 only enabled shipments to be tracked using the STT number. Peter Schumann, CIO, Schenker AG commented:

“Through this innovation, we are making tracking even easier for our customers as well as creating added value,” adding that the company intended for mobile tracking to soon also be available for other operating systems such as Blackberry.
