UK – FRANCE – EUROPE – Tail lift deliveries and collections and far flung rural destinations can be the bane of any road haulage transport manager and Manchester based international carrier and freight forwarding outfit France Line International Transport Ltd, has joined the European transport network Astre, becoming only the second company in the UK to have access to PaletSystem, Astre’s established pallet network for the distribution of part loads of up to 10 pallets throughout France and Europe.

Astre brings together more than 120 small to medium sized hauliers in France and a further 200 members scattered throughout numerous other countries in Europe. It has three main hubs in the home country, Paris, Lyon and Niort, and France Line intends to use these mainly for deliveries which require a tail-lift and to ensure a seamless service to rural areas which are difficult to cover directly. Managing Director of France Line Marie Boyer, said:

"We will continue doing the bulk of our deliveries directly to the French end user on the same export trailer but PaletSystem will allow us to offer a more comprehensive and flexible service to our customers into all corners of France.

"Becoming member of Astre and adding PaletSystem to our list of current services means France Line will provide its customers with more options for deliveries to France. This is a really positive step for the company and we're confident that this new agreement will help us to continue increasing our customer base and turnover."

Boyer, winner of the Woman in Transportation category at the Network of Aspiring Women Awards 2011 and her all female team were shortlisted for this year’s Women in Logistics SME of the Year, with Boyer herself nominated for Woman of the Year.
