GERMANY – WORLDWIDE – The Annual Summit of the International Transport Forum is to be held from the 22 May 2013 in Leipzig, Germany and the opening speaker alone will surely make this an unmissable event for many in the industry. The three days of debate and policy discussions around the theme of ‘Funding Transport’ will begin with a lecture from Nobel prize winner Professor Amartya Sen, and decision makers in the freight and logistics community will doubtless wish to hear and comment on his views.

Professor Sen is an undisputed world authority on the social and ethical implications of economic decisions who holds more than ninety honorary degrees from many of the world’s leading universities and as such his insights will be of keen interest to the expected thousand or so participants attending the event.

During this year’s Leipzig Summit, Ministers from the International Transport Forum’s fifty four member countries will be joined by industry leaders and top thinkers to discuss innovative ways to fund tomorrow’s transport systems in the face of tight budgets which are constricting international global trade.
