Freight and Logistics Staff Appointments This Week

UK – Lots of staff changes in the field of logistics this week to report, particularly in Britain starting with Ian Veitch who handed over the Presidency of the Freight Transport Association (FTA) to Leigh Pomlett, Executive Director, CEVA Group, at FTA’s National Council meeting on April 21. Ian Veitch steps down after completing a three year term as FTA President.

UK – Associated British Ports (ABP) has appointed Campbell Carruth to the position of Head of Property at the company’s operations on the Humber.

UK – Cowes Harbour Commission (CHC) has announced the appointment of David Riley as new Chair to the CHC Board. He succeeds Roger Mathias who, after serving nine years as Commissioner, including two terms as Chairman, will retire at the end of his third term on April 30.

UK – Walker Logistics has announced changes to its management team with three key appointments. Jo Denton has been promoted from the role as Head of Business Management to General Manager. Wayne Petrie has been promoted to Senior Warehouse Manager. Finally, Justin Wood has switched from his position as Account Manager to the newly created role of Transport Manager.

UK – DK Fulfilment has announced the appointment of Steve Lacey to the position of Operations Director Designate. He will be based at the company’s multi-user facility in the West Midlands but his remit will include responsibility for the smooth running of the company’s other UK and European stores.

UK – B&H Worldwide has appointed Gary Wilson to the newly created position of Non-Executive Finance Director. He will be based from the company’s London Heathrow headquarters and will work alongside the company’s existing finance team.

UK – US – Kewill has announced several changes to its senior team with the appointment of Jon Harston as Chief Financial Officer, Joy Burkholder Meier as Executive Vice President of Legal and Human Resources, Scott Brown as Executive Vice President of Support and Cloud Services, and Lee Payne as Vice President of Product Strategy.

US – UPS has announced Tamara Barker as the company’s new Chief Sustainability Officer and Vice President of Environmental Affairs, effective immediately. Barker succeeds Rhonda Clark who has been named as Vice President of Corporate Plant Engineering for UPS.

US – Rand Logistics has announced that Captain Scott Bravener has elected to not renew his employment agreement as President of Rand's subsidiaries, Lower Lakes Towing and Grand Navigation Company, effective since April 14.

DUBAI – GAC has announced two new appointments within its Group Management team. Håkan Wester takes on the new role of Group Vice President – Strategy & Planning, and Mikael Leijonberg has been named as the Group’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

SOUTH AFRICA – Siyabonga Gama has been appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer at Transnet, for an initial period of five years, effective immediately. Gama has held the role in an acting capacity since April 2015. He succeeds Brian Molefe, who left to take up a CEO position outside the company.
