IRELAND – As anyone operating aircraft knows delays caused by the unavailability of replacement parts can be horrendously costly and with this in mind the Air and Sea division of freight and logistics group Norbert Dentressangle has launched a new service in Ireland to support the time-critical movement of aircraft parts around the world.
The new operation will function 24 hours per day on every day of the year to minimise the aircraft on ground (AOG) situations which routinely cost operators tens of thousands of Euros per hour. With 40% of all aircraft worldwide currently leased through Irish companies, Norbert Dentressangle’s new AOG desk is strategically located to serve the needs of local companies while providing access to the company’s global AOG network, allowing customers anywhere in the world to benefit from door-to-door services from any origin to any destination.
Norbert Dentressangle provides a complete range of services including hand carry, taxi, baggage transfer and aircraft charter to get the right part to the right place as quickly as possible in order to minimise costly downtime and the company also offers a single point of contact for every consignment and track and trace technology, providing customers with round the clock, real-time information and transparency throughout the supply chain.
With a number of major aerospace customers in mainland Europe and existing AOG desks in Paris and London, Norbert Dentressangle claims it is rapidly advancing its position as a preferred global supply chain partner for aircraft leasing companies, airlines and services companies specialising in maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO).
In line with this positioning, Norbert Dentressangle is also attending the 17th Annual Global Airfinance Conference at the Dublin Conference Centre from 20-22 January 2015.
