Freight And Logistics Giant Launches Blackberry App

Schenkers Now Have Multilingual Tracking and a New Spirit

GERMANY – UK – DB Schenker Logistics has launched an app to make tracking on the move more convenient. Customers can now track their freight consignments using their BlackBerry smartphones using the DB Schenker Tracking App which is available as a free download on the BlackBerry App World and is available in German, English, Chinese, Finnish, Dutch, Polish, Spanish and Czech.

Meanwhile Schenker Limited in the UK report signing a three year deal with spirits company William Grant & Sons to provide domestic and international freight services for its products primarily by ocean freight but with some overland and air cargo services. The majority of shipments are destined for Europe, the Middle East and Africa plus a number of major South American destinations.

In Bellshill, Lanarkshire for the contract signing, Schenker Limited's Operations Director, Doug Coull credited Schenkers e-business solutions and international logistics capabilities for gaining the Scottish business plus the award of some significant business from Clonmel in Ireland to Europe, the Middle East, North America and Russia.

The William Grant portfolio of premium brands includes Glenfiddich®, the Balvenie® range of handcrafted single malts as well as Grants own brands, plus one of Ireland’s finest Irish Whiskeys, Tullamore Dew®.
