WORLDWIDE – This week's freight and logistics associated staff appointments and departures kick off with the news that global airline alliance, SkyTeam, has appointed Perry Cantarutti as its new Chief Executive Officer, with Michael Wisbrun, current CEO, taking over as the Chairman of the Governing Board. Wisbrun replaces Leo van Wijk who retires after eight years in the role.

UK – After 26 years with DB Schenker, Carl Hobbis has left the company. Taking over the duties of Marketing and Communications Manager at DB Schenker Logistics UK is Emma Pokropek, Marketing and Communications Assistant at DB Schenker Logistics UK.

Schenker Limited also announced the appointment of Alison Jackman as its new Head of Automotive for the UK, with immediate effect.

UK – Christopher Rodrigues CBE has been appointed Chairman of the Board of the Port of London Authority (PLA), effective January 1, 2016. He succeeds Dame Helen Alexander, who has be PLA Chairman since January 2010, having completed her statutory term of appointment.

UK – Jungheinrich has announced the appointment of Matthew Hing to the role of Project Manager within the company’s Systems and Projects Division.

UK – Kerry Logistics has announced the appointment of Dave Gaughan as Managing Director in the UK, with Ian Dadsworth named as Executive Director. Both based at the company’s UK headquarters in Manchester. Brian Dempsey rejoins Kerry Logistcs as a three-year break pursuing other interests, becoming Commercial Director, based at the London Office.

UK – Darran Green has been appointed to the newly created role of Sales Manager at FB Chain, reporting to Managing Director, Peter Church.

UK – Walker Logistics has named Colin Blackall to the position of Senior Operations Manager. He joins from Wincanton where he was responsible for a number of key accounts including Morrisons and M&S.

UK – Chief Executive of the UK Mail Group, Guy Buswell has stepped down with immediate effect, by mutual agreement. Founder and non-Executive Chairman Peter Kane has become Chief Executive in the interim.

UK – Lockheed Martin has announced the appointment of current UK Business Development Director, Peter Ruddock CB CBE, as the new Chief Executive, effective from January 4, 2016. It follows the decision by Stephen Ball to retire after 15 years with Lockheed Martin. Ball, who has been the Chief Executive since 2009, will stand down at the end of this year and continue to support the Corporation’s international business activities until his retirement at the end of July.

UK – Esther McVey has been appointed as the new Chair of the British Transport Police Authority for a four year term.

UK – EUROPE – Head of Customs & Brokerage - Europe at DHL UK, Steve Parker has been appointed as President of CLECAT, the Brussels-based European Association for forwarding, transport, logistics and customs services. He succeeds Mark Huybrechts.

US – Agility Fuel Systems has announced the appointments of Kathleen Ligocki as Chief Executive Officer, and Steve Whaley as Regional Sales Manager for the North-eastern Region. Effective December 3, Ligocki takes over from Bill Nowicke who took up the CEO role on an interim basis in July following the departure of Barry Engle. Nowicke will return to his position as Chief Operating Officer, reporting directly to Ligocki.

US – Lynden International has announced the appointment of John Kaloper as President, succeeding David Richardson who retired on November 30 after 35 years with Lynden.

US – DHL has announced that Mike Parra will succeed Stephen Fenwick as CEO for DHL Express Americas. Fenwick is retiring after a successful career that has spanned three decades at DHL. With Parra’s promotion, Greg Hewitt will move into the position of CEO for Express US operations. Fenwick’s retirement is effective December. 31; Parra and Hewitt start their new positions on January 4, 2016.

US – Intelligrated has announced the appointment of Jon Tutuncu to the position of Senior Director, Commercial Operations and Strategy. Based in Cincinnati, he reports to Chuck Adams, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Sales and Marketing.

AUSTRIA – Not exactly appointments, Heidi Senger-Weiss, Supervisory Board Member and shareholder of Gebrüder Weiss, was the first woman to be inducted into the logistics pantheon.
