Free Logistics And Supply Chain Aid For North East Firms - But Hurry!

UK - Growth Logistics 2, an EU-funded programme to help North-East businesses become leaner and greener, has helped companies in the region improve their bottom lines by almost £10m. To demonstrate its effectiveness first-hand, three firms taking part in the project are holding an open day to show what they have gained by their participation. Growth Logistics 2 is also providing 100% funding for consultants from the NAC group to work directly with a further twenty two small to medium sized enterprises.

In the first year of the scheme results speak for themselves; in that time Sunderland based NAC has helped 58 companies to win new business totalling £8 million, make efficiency savings totalling £1.5million, safeguard existing turnover totally £17 million and create 41 new jobs. The three companies involved, Snorkel, based in Washington, producers of ‘cherry picker’ lifts, Cottam Brush in Hebburn, South Tyneside and Wessington Cryogenics in Houghton-le-Spring will all be taking part in the open day to share some of the benefits and knowledge they have gained from the Growth Logistics 2 project. NAC has arranged site visits to each factory, starting with Cottam Brush at 9am.
