Forwarders and Logistics Interests Told UK Freight Awards Application Deadline Extended - but Hurry!

Just a Few Days Left for the Chance to be Feted by Your Transport Peers

UK – Any freight forwarders or other logistics providers out there who are beating themselves up for missing this week's deadline to enter the British International Freight Association (BIFA) annual Freight Service Awards can breathe a sigh of relief, as dates for nominations has now been extended to 2 October 2017 for reasons Robert Keen, Director General of BIFA, explains:

“We brought the deadline forward this year, but September has been an extremely busy post-holiday period for many of our members, which has limited the time that some of them have had to prepare their entries. Hence, we have decided to extend the deadline to give all the trade association’s corporate members a little more time to get their submissions together.

“Every year I hear from members who regret not entering, so we are extending the opportunity for the best in the industry to be recognised by their peers at the 29th awards ceremony, next January.”

To have membership of BIFA and yet not attend the awards is to miss out on a unique networking opportunity, not to say what is always an excellent lunch! And, if considering attendance, why not take a shot at one of the nine categories available for self-nomination? All you need to do to be in with the chance of being announced as an award winner, is choose your category and write a 1,000-word submission.

Categories available include:

  • Air Cargo Services Award
  • Cool Award
  • European Logistics Award
  • Extra Mile Award
  • Ocean Services Award
  • Project Forwarding Award
  • Specialist Services Award
  • Staff Development Award
  • Supply Chain Management Award

Full details of how to apply and what is covered by each category can be seen HERE and BIFA publishes a helpful ‘Top Tips’ document for first timers who may appreciate guidance (and repeat applicants who need to jog their memories).
