FIJI – The Fijian Ministry of Transport has issued a warning to all shipping and liner agents to recall all their ships to port and also to refrain from sailing until the threat of Cyclone Mick passes.
A spokesperson for the ministry said: “If there are any [vessels] at sea, we have asked them to seek shelter at the safest harbour closest to them.”
Cyclone Mick has recently been upgraded to a category two, with gusts reaching up to 150 kms / hour near its centre and is currently located some 60 kilometres West – Northwest of Suva according to the Fiji Meteorological Service.
