USA - FedEx Express has announced agreements to purchase six additional B777F air freighters for its fleet. The largest all-cargo airline in the world will purchase four B777Fs directly from Boeing and two from additional sources.
Including this new order, FedEx has now ordered a total of thirty-eight B777F aircraft, with to date six B777Fs delivered and four of those already introduced into service.
According to FedEx: “The B777F is best in class for international express freighters and allows FedEx Express to offer its global customers unmatched service with later cutoff times, is environmentally friendly and saves on maintenance and operating costs.”
This latest order is another clear indication of the rapid recovery that the air freight sector is making after the recession, particularly in the Asia-Pacific and Americas regions.
