UK – Manchester based specialist exhibition stand design and build company DD Exhibitions have increased their logistical abilities by buying their first articulated truck, an Iveco Xtralis 400. The new lorry joins DD’s existing fleet of vans and 7.5 tonne vehicles.

‘This acquisition is an important step for DD Exhibitions,’ said Simon Diggins, CEO at DD. ‘This new capability makes us much better equipped to deal with our clients needs in regards to attending shows across both the UK and Europe.’

DD Exhibitions build bespoke exhibition stands for clients all over the world and a recent upsurge in orders has seen their transport needs increase to cope with the new demand. Diggins explained that:

‘DD Exhibitions has made a number of important equipment investments in the last year to improve on our service offerings, which in turn has caused a dramatic rise in our workload with a consequential demand on our transport requirements. The new articulated unit means that we are better able to deal with this and further improves on our excellent reliability record.’

The new lorry has already been put to good use by delivering the firm’s latest creations, a 198sq metre stand for 1888 Mills, a leader in home and commercial textile manufacturing, at the Heimtextil 2011 show in Frankfurt, Germany.
