UK – The John Good Group, which includes shipping and logistics, warehousing and freight distribution and corporate and leisure travel in its portfolio, has been recognised once again for its recent growth by being shortlisted for the Real Business Growing Business Awards. For a company formed originally in 1833 the desire to continue to grow and develop remains strong.

In association with Lloyds Bank and supported by the CBI, the Growing Business Awards are considered the most established and respected national recognition of SME and entrepreneurial success and the Hull based company, which operates from 16 sites across the UK and also has overseas offices in Turkey and China, has been selected as one of the UK’s leading mid-sized organisations with a turnover between £25-50m.

Despite being around for over 180 years, the company has seen significant growth over the last five years as it strives to reach its targeted financial milestone by 2022, something the company aimed for some considerable time ago, as Managing Director Alan Platt explains:

“When we defined our growth strategy back in 2001, we had a huge challenge ahead, but we always believed we would achieve our targets and remain on course to hit our big, hairy, audacious goal in 2022. In the last few years our growth has been recognised both locally and nationally which is testament to the hard work and determination of all of the team within the John Good Group. We look forward to the awards ceremony and very much hope we will be named winner of our category in 2015.”

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square (pictured) on 26 November.
