Essex Freight Forwarding Group Snaps Up General Road Haulage and Courier Outfit

UK – Freight forwarding outfit Woodland Logistics has acquired Peterborough based Courier Elite, a same day and general road haulage operator with a 17 strong fleet of vehicles ranging up to 26 tonnes rigid plus crane and fork lift mounted artics to 44 tonnes. The Woodland Group has been expanding of late and now operates from numerous centres around the UK and overseas with 550 staff. Last year the company expanded its Chelmsford, Essex headquarters with a 155,000 Square foot supply chain facility.

Woodland supplies transport management to large manufacturing businesses in the UK with embedded logistics teams and Sean Kirby, Woodland Logistics Managing Director commented on the latest move saying:

“The addition of the Courier Elite business will strengthen our presence in in the Cambridgeshire, Northampton and Midlands and greatly assist in our growth plans for the region. The ambition is to double the size of our current national fleet of 155 vehicles within the next 3-5 years, with the Peterborough and Midlands region of specific focus.”
