Dublin Port to Host EFFORTS events

IRELAND - The Dublin Port Company is to host two demonstration events for the European "Effective Operations in Ports (EFFORTS)" research and development programme. The events shall take place on the 2nd and 7/8th of October and focus on issues of noise abatement and staff education/training.

The EFFORTS project, which commenced in May 2006, has the aim of improving the competitiveness of European port operations and the quality of their labour and market conditions. It does this by identifying problems in three broad fields: navigation in port waters, management and infrastructure organisation, and environmental issues.
