GERMANY – Danish freight forwarding group DSV has unveiled plans to construct a €60 million logistics facility in Krefeld-Fichtenhain, Germany in conjunction with real estate developer Habacker. The new project will mean the consolidation of several arms of the group covering road haulage and air and ocean cargo movement within the 80,000 square metre facility. Peter Fog-Petersen, Managing Director, DSV Road, Germany was enthusiastic about the development which will mean a new home for DSV facilities currently located in Neuss, Mettman, Duisburg, Nettetal, Düsseldorf and Willich, saying that combining the three divisions into one facility would strengthen DSV’s market position in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The planned logistics capacity of the building will be around 50,000m2 to 60,000m2 with an additional 15,000m2 cross-docking area and 7,000m2 of office space. Additionally, it underlines our strategy to increase cross divisional collaboration in order to offer our clients truly integrated end-to-end logistics solutions.”
