Germany Sees Latest Expansion for Danish Group

GERMANY – DENMARK – Following its purchase of the Irish Continental Group subsidiary Feederlink Shipping & Transport * b.v in December, Danish container carrier Unifeeder announced that its new sales office in Düsseldorf formally opened last month. The box carrier specialises in transporting containers from the large European container hubs in Belgium, England, Germany and the Netherlands to more than 35 regional ports across the UK, the Nordic Region, the Baltic States and Russia whilst growing its multimodal logistics business.

The new office will be headed up by Marc Steckemetz, who recently assumed the position of Senior Sales Manager Region South and comes to the job having gained experience in the Rhein/Ruhr market going on to manage the Samskip branch in his native Düsseldorf. Florian Ambach, Unifeeder’s Manager Shortsea Central Europe commented:

"With Marc Steckemetz we have hired a strong Sales Manager with a good network into the target areas and intense knowledge of the shortsea product. The foundation of Unifeeder Düsseldorf is an important part of our shortsea sales strategy and is in line with the Unifeeder expansion plans in the Region Central.”
