UK – Marseille based CMA CGM say they are delighted after being awarded three separate accolades by ASDA, the supermarket chain which since 1999 has been a subsidiary of US retail giant, Walmart. The French container shipping line which has freight contracts with ASDA won the award for Outstanding Customer Service and was named International Carrier of the Year and, most importantly, ASDA’s Carrier of the Year.

CMA CGM says the awards are recognized in the shipping industry as a benchmark of excellence, and the prizes reward the exceptional involvement of the Group’s sales teams and local agencies. They take into account criteria which include innovation, schedule reliability, quality of customer service, flexibility and the Group's ability to provide tailor-made solutions to its partners, all of which the box carrier say are a priority for all the group’s logistics teams worldwide.

The CMA CGM Group and the Walmart Group have been closely collaborating since 2005. Last year, Mac Andrews, the CMA CGM subsidiary specializing in short sea intra-European transport, won the ASDA “2010 European Carrier of the Year” award. A delighted Graham Fraser, General Manager CMA CGM UK said:

"We are honoured by these rewards, which highlight the dedication and expertise of our teams around the world. A mobilization that enables us to meet the needs of our customers and offer them the highest quality of services in all aspects of our business.“
