UK – The time is coming around again for the Annual Awards & Charity Ball hosted by Women in Logistics so stretch those weary fingers and hit the links below to demonstrate your support for the best companies and staff in the supply chain by nominating those in the freight industry who deserve recognition. The annual Women in Logistics Awards, now in their third year, will again be paired with a Charity Ball with the money raised going to the transport charity Transaid.

The events are preceded by the Women in Logistics Annual Conference and together they make up the flagship event for the women’s group which strives to shatter the glass ceiling which has traditionally been a part of the industry’s décor. The annual conference theme is ‘Supply Chain Simplicity in a Complex World' and there will be two headline speakers, Emile Naus, Partner and Technical Director at LCP Consulting and former Head of Logistics Strategy at M&S, who will share his perspective on the latest developments in omnichannel logistics and the broader implications for retail and Janet Godsell, Professor of Supply Chain and Operations at Warwick University, who will discuss the end to end supply chain.

The 2014 Conference begins at 9:30 for 10 on Friday June 27 and will be hosted the offices of Wright Hassall, Olympus Avenue, Leamington Spa, CV34 6BF, whilst in the evening delegates and their guests will enjoy the Annual Awards & Charity Ball held at the Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth, near Warwick, CV8 2LD (just 12 minutes’ drive away). The evening starts at 7pm with welcome drinks sponsored by Kuehne + Nagel and there will be Four Awards for which you are encouraged to nominate below suitable candidates who deserve the accolades of their industry peers:

Women in Logistics was formed in 2008 and this will be the third successive Charity Ball which aims to support an organisation which does enormous good, particularly across Africa. Tickets for the events are available on the Women in Logistics website, and founder Ruth Waring, commented:

"We've built up a real momentum with our two previous charity balls, and so far raised over £16,000 for Transaid. We are proud to be supporting them again this year, as well as promoting the great contribution women make to the logistics sector."
