WORLDWIDE – Sanjiv Edward, Head of Cargo Business at Delhi International Airport has been named as the next Chairman of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), with Sebastiaan Scholte, CEO of Jan de Rijk Logistics, named Vice Chairman. TIACA represents all sectors of the air freight and logistics industry, from airlines and forwarders to shippers and customs brokers. The pair will formally take over from Oliver Evans and Enno Osinga for the beginning of their two year term, at TIACA’s AGM on May 21.

WORLDWIDE – United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has appointed Dr Henrik O. Madsen, Group President & Chief Executive Officer of DNV GL, as a new board member to the Board of the UN Global Compact, effective June 1.

NETHERLANDS – Ceva Logistics has announced the appointment of Helmut Kaspers to the position of Chief Operating Officer, Global Air and Ocean Freight, since May 1, replacing Michael Schaecher who left the company after less than a year. Kaspers joins Ceva from Kaspers Consulting + Investment, an international logistics consultancy established in 2013, and has previously held operational and commercial positions with Damco, Kuenhe + Nagel, and DB Schenker. Kaspers will join CEVA’s Executive Board and report directly to Xavier Urbain.

UK – Sue Terpilowski OBE has been elected as the new WISTA-UK President. The Owner and Managing Director of Image Line Communications, Terpilowski has been serving as Acting President since mid-November when her predecessor, Maria Dixon left the role after serving six years.

UK – Beverley Bell was last week welcomed as the new President of the Charted Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) – UK, for 2015/16. Beverley Bell FCILT, Senior Traffic Commissioner for Great Britain succeeds Jim Spittle FCILT.

UK – Heathrow Airport has named Nick Platts as its new Head of Cargo, effective mid-May.

UK – Allport Cargo Services has announced the its incumbent Managing Director, Charles McGurin, has been appointed to the newly created role of Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

UK – Forth Ports has appointed David Webster as the new Port Manager for the Port of Dundee. Webster has full operational responsibility for the Port of Dundee and will also oversee the operations at the Ports of Kirkcaldy & Methil. Forth Ports has also announced Sharon Currie as it new Business Development Manager for Scotland, effective in June. Currie has held many senior Sales Executive positions throughout the international freight and logistics industry, including MOL Europe.

UK – Following Alex Laffey’s move to Eddie Stobart, Tesco has named Andrew Woolfenden as Laffey's successor to take on the role of the UK Distribution Director.

UK – Hitachi Rail Europe has announced the appointments of Karen Boswell as Managing Director and Nick Hughes as Sales Director, both effective from June 1. Joining from East Coast Trains, Boswell takes over the role from Keith Jordan who will be taking up a new senior international role. Hughes takes over the responsibilities as Sales Director from Andy Barr, who remains solely as COO.

AUSTRIA – Peter Umundum has been reappointed to head the Parcel and Logistics operations of Austrian Post. Having initially taken up the role in 2011, his current term runs until March 31, 2016, when he will begin his extended term for another three years, followed by a renewal option for a further two years.

AUSTRIA – Kay Kratky has been nominated to succeed Jaan Albrecht as CEO of Austrian Airlines as of August 1, 2015. Albrecht will switch to SunExpress, a joint venture of Lufthansa, of which Austrian Airlines is a member, and Turkish Airlines.

FINLAND – Cargotec has appointed Michel van Roozendaal as President of the MacGregor business unit. Reporting to Cargotec's President and CEO Mika Vehviläinen, van Roozendaal will also become a member of the parent company’s Executive Board, effective in August.

NORWAY – Norwegian Trade Fairs appoints Birgit Liodden as new Director of Nor-Shipping, a biennial international shipping event. She will now work alongside current Nor-Shipping Director Vidar Pederstad ahead of this year’s event before taking over the full time running of future events after its completion.

NORWAY – The Board of Directors of Odfjell SE has appointed Kristian Mørch as the company’s new CEO and President, effective by November 1. Current co-CEO of Clipper Group and former Maersk Tankers man Mørch, will succeed Tore Jakobsen who took up the role on an interim basis in December 2014 after Jan Hammer stepped down due to ‘different view on the strategic direction for the company’. US – Statoil has announced a series of changes to its senior management team, with the CFO, Torgrim Reitan appointed EVP for Development & Production USA after Bill Maloney decided to not prolong his contract with the company. Hans Jakob Hegge is appointed as the new EVP and CFO. Hegge comes from the position as Senior Vice President for Operations North in Development & Production Norway. Irene Rummelhoff has been appointed EVP for the recently launched business area, New Energy Solutions, and Jens Økland new EVP for Marketing, Midstream & Processing (MMP). Rummelhoff and Økland start in their new positions June 1. Reitan and Hegge will start in their new positions August 1.

US – Transport Corporation of America has announced that Scott Arves will be stepping down as President, effective June 1. Keith Klein, Transport America's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer will succeed Arves as President

US – Rear Adm. Scott Buschman assumed the responsibilities as the Coast Guard 7th District Commander and Director of Homeland Security Task Force Southeast from Rear Adm. Jake Korn, who retires after 40 years of service with the Coast guard. The 7th Coast Guard District, headquartered in Miami Florida, is a 1.8 million square mile area of responsibility that encompasses the Southeastern United States and the Caribbean basin.

US – The Shipbuilders Council of America has named Tom Godfrey, President and CEO of Colonna’s Shipyard in Norfolk, Virginia, as its new Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Richard McCreary, Vice President and General Manager at BAE Systems, as Vice Chairman.

DUBAI – William Hill has been appointed as Executive Group Vice President of GAC Oil & Gas. His former duties as Group Vice President, Commercial are being taken over by Christer Sjödoff, previously Group Vice President, Solutions.

CHINA – In relocating its China and North Asia office from Hong Kong to Beijing, Maersk Line has announced that Chief Executive of North Asia, Tim Smith, is to relinquish his position overseeing all of the North Asian operations in order to focus exclusively his responsibilities as Chairman of Maersk China.
