Bulk Freight Carrier Takes Delivery Of Two New Ships

Eagle Shipping Expansion Continues Apace

USA – New York City-based dry bulk freight specialist Eagle Bulk Shipping has taken delivery of its latest two additions to its fleet. The bulk carriers Egret Bulker and the Golden Eagle have already been placed on time charters on three and one year contracts respectively.

The latest additions follow on from last weeks commissioning of the Supramax carrier Crane which has also been placed straight into work on a nine-year contract that is expected to contribute approximately $60 million in minimum contracted revenue.

Eagle Bulk Shipping has also announced that it has secured new charter contracts for three of its other vessels:

Jaeger, a 52,248 dwt vessel has been chartered at $26,000 per day for 3 to 5 months duration.

Crowned Eagle, a 56,000 dwt vessel has been chartered at $25,000 per day for 3 to 5 months duration.

Osprey I, a 50,206 dwt vessel has been chartered at $18,000 per day for 4 to 6 months duration.

Eagle now states that the company’s fleet of thirty ships, all dry bulk vessels that range in size from 50,000 to 60,000 deadweight tons, has time charter agreements for 58% of available days for 2010.
