UK - British Airways World Cargo has launched an award that should appeal to freight forwarders with interests in the air freight market. In order to help the UK’s Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) BA is offering such companies the chance to win one of 100 Business Opportunity Grants.

Each winner shall receive twelve business class flights anywhere on the British Airways network and free British Airways World Cargo shipping space consisting of five whole AKEs, to be used within a year of selection.

In a statement BA said that: “The British Airways promotion is designed to bring business benefits to 100 UK SMEs in a challenging economic climate. Each winning company will also receive four British Airways American Express Corporate Cards, five Regus businessworld gold memberships and a free subscription to the Telegraph newspaper.”

Andy Jaye, regional commercial manager, UK and Ireland, BA World Cargo commented: “SMEs make up 99 per cent of British business and in such difficult times we want to help these organisations do business more effectively. We're offering the equivalent of over three tonnes of cargo capacity to each winning organisation to help facilitate trade across the globe.”

Entrants into the competition will need to answer a few questions on the nature of their business and why they think they can benefit from the grant.

Entries are to be made by the 15th of December.

Anyone seeking more information or wishing to enter can do so here.
