British Airways Expands Logistics Contract with Kuehne and Nagel to Include Sea Freight and Haulage

UK – British Airways has renewed and expanded its contract with logistics operator Kuehne + Nagel on the import of in-flight wines and shipping of cabin service supplies. K+N have been managing BA’s wine shipments since 2004 to the UK from multiple origins across Europe, Australia, South Africa and South America and will now continue to do so for another three years.

In addition to renewing the existing contract, British Airways has also appointed Kuehne + Nagel to manage some of its domestic road traffic within the UK as well sea freight exports of its cabin service supplies from the UK to its distribution centre in Chicago.

David Hoade, Senior Logistics and Services Manager for British Airways said:

"Kuehne + Nagel has developed an in-depth knowledge of the supply chain requirements for our in-flight wine offering and, in particular, has demonstrated an understanding of our specific sea and overland transport challenges. We are confident that the relationship will continue to deliver added value to British Airways.”

Kuehne + Nagel state that they believe that their extensive global sea freight network was the main element in British Airways decision and they are delighted by the news.
