ZAMBIA – Barloworld Logistics have been signed up by joint developers BLB Project Development Consultants and Hightower Properties for the logistics requirements in the development of two shopping mall developments in the country, Coppercity Mall and the Manda Hill Centre, already one of the two largest such developments in Zambia.

Barloworld Logistics Middle East & Asia worked with their branch offices in Johannesburg, South Africa and Lusaka, Zambia to clinch the deal and Managing Director Frank Courtney commented:

“The project commenced for our team in Zambia following a lead from our key executives In South Africa. This is definitely a testimony of how our previous international acquisitions expanded our reach to several niche services within the transport logistics activities. This footprint, combined with our agent network means there are not many places we are unable to reach in a seamless and professional manner.”

Barloworld Logistics acquired Swift Freight International in 2008, including affiliates in the Far East and Germany, plus over 20 offices in Africa. The acquisition exemplified a significant growth potential for Barloworld Logistics, which ultimately made it possible for the company to facilitate a rapid and extensive geographical expansion into South East Asia, the Middle East, Western Europe, and Africa.
