Austrian Freight Group Celebrates 20 Years of Chinese Logistics Operations

From Shanghai to Seventeen Offices Countrywide

CHINA – Austrian headquartered freight and logistics company, Gebrüder Weiss has recently held a celebration dinner, commemorating twenty years since it established its first branch in Shanghai, China. About 250 guests were invited to this event, including some of the company’s board members, in addition to customer from all over China, representatives of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and of the Consulate General as well as guests from the group’s international network, from branches in China and the Austrian management team who witnessed A colourful supporting programme with a traditional dance performance, Chinese drums and a fascinating shadow play.

Supervisory Board Member Paul Senger-Weiss emphasized in his introductory remarks how the success of the last 20 years is based on the great personal commitment of many people and an unshakable faith in the country’s economic and political development. Yongquan Chen, General Manager of joint venture partner of Gebrüder Weiss and Röhlig Logistics, Weiss-Röhlig in China expressed his gratitude for the company’s ability to profit from the time period after the reform and the economic opening of China saying that the Chinese operation had seen a thirty fold increase in turnover in the last decade alone adding:

“We are thankful for the loyal support of our employees, colleagues overseas, clients and partners. Today, Weiss-Röhlig China is a fully valid Chinese company that has furthermore managed to newly integrate and live our values in a regional context. This is the basis for a fruitful cooperation and opens up good career development opportunities for employees.”
