AUSTRALIA – The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) is calling for the nation’s freight and logistics operators to nominate the best of those unsung heroes – the men and women who work behind the scenes in the trucking industry’s workshops.

The ATA is now taking nominations for its annual Craig Roseneder Award for Technical and Maintenance Excellence in the Workshop. The award, sponsored by Castrol, is presented to outstanding mechanics who keep their company’s fleets rolling through thick and thin.

The winner will take away a scholarship to attend the 2012 American Trucking Associations’ Maintenance Council meeting, with airfares, accommodation and A$1,500 in spending money.

Nominations close on the 26th of September, with the winner to be announced during the Castrol Awards Dinner during the 2011 Technical & Maintenance Conference in Sydney.

Anyone with who wants to nominate a candidate as Australia’s Supreme Grease Monkey can do so here.
