GERMANY – Regular readers will be aware of the Toll Group’s expansion into new freight markets in the UK and beyond over the past year or so. Now Toll Global Forwarding, the international logistics and forwarding division, has appointed Cédric Faivre (38) as its new MD for Germany to spearhead the company’s planned expansion in the country over the coming months.

A graduate in business studies with specialisation in logistics, Faivre commenced his career working in Citroen’s supply chain management in France, going on to hold a variety of senior shipping posts in major logistics companies including Gefco and Giraud (now Geodis), where he headed up sales in central- and eastern Europe, and was ultimately MD of its German operation. He will be based in Toll’s German HQ in Düsseldorf.

Toll expect staff levels in Germany to rise to 100+ within the next year in the company’s existing offices in Hamburg, Hannover, Munich, Frankfurt and Stuttgart as well as Düsseldorf and this expansion mirrors the groups growth in the European and Middle Eastern (EME) region where it gained ISO 9001:2008 certification last month, plus its current developments throughout the Nordic and Baltic States countries.

Mr Faivre, replaces Kay Uwe Gretsch who left the company recently due to personal reasons, and he said on the news of his appointment:

“I am absolutely delighted to be joining this dynamic organisation, which is investing heavily in enhancing its global network and capabilities. We have exciting plans for the German market, which is an extremely important element in our total EME strategy, and this is all good news for our valued customers. I look forward very much to contributing to our future growth here.”
